Deacon John Steele

Deacon John Steele was born in Washington, D.C. on November 17, 1936. He graduated from St. Michael's College in Winooski, VT in 1958. He was married to the former Kathleen Murray on October 19, 1963. They have four adult children, two boys and two girls.  Deacon John was ordained on June 13, 1998 by Cardinal Roger Mahony for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. He is assigned to Holy Family Parish where his primary ministry is working with the homeless. A quotation from the Prophet Micah inspires his diaconate service: "This is what God asks of you: only this, to act justly, to love tenderly and to walk humbly with your God." -- Micah 6:8
