GREETINGS!!

When asked where are you from? It’s a real challenge to give you a straight answer. My name is Father Jim Bevacqua and I am from “all over the place.” I was born in Munich, Germany of American military parents.  My father’s second career took us to Ohio, Indiana, and New Jersey.  After majoring in accounting, I graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in business in 1981.  I subsequently had various careers in New York, Europe and Los Angeles.  My last job before entering the seminary in the fall of 1997 was working at Touchstone Pictures in Burbank.  Thus, I always tell people that it was Hollywood that drove me to the seminary.  Go figure!    I was ordained on the Feast of the Visitation, May 31, 2003 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels.  Our class was the first to be ordained in the cathedral; it was truly a historic moment.  The next day I celebrated my first Mass at St. Monica’s Church (my home parish).  I served at Holy Trinity in San Pedro for four years ending on July 1, 2007.  My second assignment was at St. Philip the Apostle in Pasadena as associate pastor. I relish parish ministry and I love being a priest. In my free time I surf, go to movies, read, work out at the gym, mountain bike and travel. If there is anything we can do for you at Holy Family, please let us know!

You can reach Father Jim at (818) 247-2222 Ext. 225

YEAR FOR PRIESTS

Please Pray for Priests

Dear Lord,
we pray that the Blessed Mother
wrap her mantle around your priests
and through her intercession
strengthen them for their ministry.

We pray that Mary will guide your priests
to follow her own words,
"Do whatever He tells you" (Jn 2:5).

May your priests have the heart of St. Joseph,
Mary’s most chaste spouse.

May the Blessed Mother’s own pierced heart
inspire them to embrace
all who suffer at the foot of the cross.

May your priests be holy,
filled with the fire of your love
seeking nothing but your greater glory
and the salvation of souls.
Amen.
Saint John Vianney, pray for us.
